Bikable City - Tale of Three Cities






As environment, transportation and health become increasingly important social agenda, more cities worldwide eye on bicycle as an alternate transportation mode. Its non-motorized mobility and recreation benefit are strong enough that many cities wish to change their current city road and riverside to be a bikable city. Portland, Oregon, USA, is well known for its transit- and bike-friendly city planning. Seattle also unveiled its ambitious 10-year master plan towards a bike city. Yet, they are land-rich and midium-sized(2-3 million) American city. How about Seoul, a dense, 10-million mega city? Seoul also wishes to join the group of bikable city with its new bike plan.
